PREVENTIVE AND GENERAL DENTISTRY LIMITS POTENTIAL DENTAL ISSUES
Regular dental cleanings and exams are the most important factor to great oral health and a beautiful smile. And those who smile often are happier than those who don’t. However, what happens if you are self-conscious about your smile?
If you have missing, stained or crooked teeth due to any variety of reasons, you may feel quite self-conscious about your smile. This can affect you not just physically, but emotionally as well. You owe it to yourself to practice excellent dental care through regular cleanings so that you can smile without embarrassment and eat free of pain.
The staff at Southern Shores Dental has the experience and expertise that you prefer in a dental provider. We are confident that no matter what your dental needs may be, we can help you have a lovely smile and a healthy mouth.
Routine Dental Care
The best path to good oral health is to prevent problems from happening in the first place. This can be achieved through regular brushing, flossing, and appointments with your dentist. During regular appointments, we may perform any of the following services:
- Dental exams–Most people need to see a dentist at least twice a year to check for dental health issues. By keeping this important appointment, you can be proactive in addressing potential problems while they are small. Also, at a routine dental appointment, your hygienist will clean your teeth, removing plaque that can lead to tooth decay.
- X-rays–Dental X-rays help us spot areas of potential concern in the teeth. These pictures reveal areas of decay that aren’t obvious, abscesses, bone changes, developmental abnormalities, and other problems. Most people need dental X-rays twice a year.
- Sealants–Dental sealants are typically applied to the molars of children. However, teens and adults with teeth prone to decay may also get sealants. Sealants are a plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the molars. This prevents plaque and bacteria from becoming trapped on the teeth and damaging the tooth enamel.
Having your teeth regularly checked and cleaned so that they will be pearly white, healthy, and straight could change your life completely. You will feel greater self-confidence, a more positive attitude, and enjoy higher quality of life.
Other Dental Care
If you need cavities filled, a broken tooth crowned, a missing tooth replaced, or a non-surgical periodontal procedure, we can help you with these as well. Additionally, we can fit you for both full and partial dentures if you have some missing teeth. You don’t need to worry or stress about any of these types of dental issues.
